WCG09: Karjen on top!

Karjen WCG09 champion!

Karjen has won the TMNF Grand Final in Chengdu, China. In a close fight with his compatriot FrostBeule, they both got finalist on the last map. In this decisive round, it looked like Karjen would have an easy win, because Frost crashed. But PeZi was there to put pressure on Karjen. In a tense fight for the championship, PeZi and Karjen finished with the same time, but Karjen was in front by a millimeter! Frost came in 2nd, while Bergie beat PeZi for the bronze medal!

A perfect way to end a perfect championship (although the live-streaming was not so perfect at all) !!!

As expected, PeZi took the first place with a clean 250 points. Skunk came in 2nd, taking the other spot in this group.

Closer fights in this group, because of the n!Faculty teammates Fruit and Munkeholm. They respectively achieved 272 and 210 points, both taking a spot for the playoffs. NosferatuNG had no chance, but still finished with a nice amount of 126 points.

In this weird group with 3 unkown asian players, it were shkcity and GPXCAR who managed to take the slots for the next phase.

This group was all about who would take the 2nd spot. Karjen was too strong for the other 2 players and therefore he finished way in front with 264 points. cHoco and Shadow battled for the 2nd place and in the end it was Shadow who made it. He finished with 178 points, while cHoco only trailed by 12.

2 favorites, 2 spots, no surprises. gaLLo and dido managed to qualify for the next phase in a quite close match. German champion gaLLo took the 1st place with 262 points, followed closely by dido with 234 points.

Impressive performance by the french champion Carl. With a big lead he took the topspot in this group with a stunning 274 points. A tense fight between HotSwat and Dont was ended with a small difference of only 10 points. HotSwat finished 2nd with 158 points, taking the other spot in this group.

As we expected a nice battle between Bergie and BOmBe here, we were left disappointed. Bergie was able to finish 1st quite easily with 268 points, while BOmBe came in 2nd with 68 points less. Matjaz was never able to pose a threat for BOmBe or Bergie.

What a group! 3 high-skilled well-known players in the TMNF-community. And it was topfavorite FrostBeule who ran away with the highest spot. Tamarillo was determined to give Moriah a tense battle for the 2nd spot and so it was. Unfortunately for the dutch player, he came 22 points short. The talented and experienced Moriah was able to control his nerves and got qualified for the playoffs. All 3 players had over 200 points, which shows that this was definitely the "group of death"!
